Decoration comes after the core construction plan
Use the sketchbook to decide whether a design needs appliqué, lace, trim or other accessories. Decoration can support a commission target, but it does not replace required garment pieces or an appropriate fabric choice.
Placement and adjustment
The official screenshot shows a dedicated placement view. Select the intended decoration, position it on the garment and use the controls displayed by the current build. Search results contain several variations of “remove lace,” but no official public control sheet confirms one universal key across Windows, macOS and future controller support.
Check your build before troubleshooting
Build 403 fixed lace trim being tagged incorrectly. If a lace-related requirement does not register, update first and re-check the item type. A guide recorded before September 22, 2026 may describe launch behaviour that no longer applies.
Accessory quantity achievement
Steam publicly describes Harder than it Seams as placing more than 300 accessories on one dress. Trim and Proper requires more than 50 metres of trim on one dress. Those are official achievement descriptions, not general recommendations for an efficient commission.
Avoid irreversible assumptions
Before finalizing, zoom out and inspect the whole garment. If removal or rotation is unclear, use the visible current-build controls rather than saving over the design based on an unverified shortcut.
